Earlier in the week we were fortunate enough to view our little babes and have their genders revealed to us.

It was a 45 minute scan, which as far as twin scans go, is quite quick!  Our little lady who has attended all of our scan appointments so far, was quite excited about seeing her babies in Mama’s tummy. She relates to them as ” Keira’s Bubbas”.

During one of my very first scans (dating scan) I was told that every appointment will take much longer and that I should expect to be at my scanning appointments for awhile. Thank goodness I don’t have to try and drink a ton of water anymore and try and hold my bladder. We were also informed that the babies would be referred to as Twin A and Twin B. Twin A would always be the twin that is closest to the exit.

Anywho back to why we’re all here…….straight away the sonographer asked if we wanted to know the flavours? I had been on the fence about finding out. Last time we didn’t find out the gender until our daughter was born and it was such a neat surprise. However being as there are two babies, I felt like it would be more practical to know. I replied to the sonographer with  “I think so”  and my husband replied to clarify “that’s a yes!”  We were ready for the verdict!

Just a small side note, incase you  were wondering what the genders were of the twins that run in our families currently. Here they are; my mum had a boy and a girl fraternal twins and my husbands Aunty had girl fraternal twins. I should also mention that my cousin had identical girl twins, however identical twins aren’t genetic, its fraternal twins that are. To me it looked like the odds weren’t looking like 2 boys, but you just never know right?

Back to the reveal! Straight away the sonographer revealed that she could see a willie on Twin A and Twin B had no willie!

One of each! She triple checked and then made an official confirmation that we were having a BOY and a GIRL! 

So there it is……a BOY and a GIRL!!!
