Matcha, Matcha, Matcha!

Matcha has become my new health food love! If you haven’t heard about it before, it has a great list of health benefits! It’s full of antioxidants, boosts energy levels, a great alternative to coffee, calms the mind, aids concentration and can go in pretty much everything (just ask the Japanese they love Matcha). Here’s my delicious Matcha latte recipe for you to try, enjoy and your welcome!

Ingredients

1 tsp of Matcha powder
½ Cup of Coconut milk
½ Cup of Hot water (90 degrees)
1 tsp of Rice malt syrup (or sweetener of your choice)

Boil a jug of hot water and turn it off just before it hits boiling point (water needs to be at 90 ° C – boiling point is 100°). Add Matcha powder into a cup and pour in a small amount of coconut milk. Add in a small about of hot water and whisk with a chasen (bamboo tea whisk). If you do not have chasen a teaspoon will do, but may not mix as well as a chasen. Pour in the the remainder of coconut milk and hot water and stir. Stir in rice malt syrup, enjoy!

Serves 1, time required 5 minutes.
