Where are my manners ?

I must have no manners, writing up posts before getting acquainted first. Pardon my rudeness, my mum did teach me about manners!

Here it all goes, my name is Lennae Stubbs, I have a supportive and loving husband named Cameron, a black and white cuddly kitty-cat called Barry, he is very snuggley most of the time. I am the eldest of four siblings, I have a loving and supportive family. I am kiwi born living in sunny Wollongong, NSW, Australia. I am also very lucky to have my family based here as well, so lots of love and support around me. I have a few close friends that are very supportive they all know who they are!

Before I gave up work I was working in a bank (not my dream job, but it brings in the bacon). I was quite an active girl, always going for walks with my darling hubby, bush walks, and starting to do a bit of running. I was training to run my first 1/2 marathon! I also visited the gym regularly and I love practicing yoga.
I have a love for health and fitness, food and nutrition. When I am well enough my dream would be to pursue a career in that area.
I have a massive love for smoothies, I enjoy making up new flavours daily. I also enjoying reading, I love watching Modern Family and Game of Thrones!!! I enjoy traveling, visiting, seeing and learning about new places. As soon as I’m well enough one of my big goals is to travel South and Central America with my husband.

Having this illness isolates me a lot from the real world, it can be a bit lonely. I wanted to start this blog to connect with fellow spoonies (A person living with chronic illness, refer to Christine Miserandino’s Spoon Theory) like myself. I want to share all my healthy recipes with the world, I strongly believe health is wealth. Eating well can do wonders for your health! I also want to share on my blog all things positive and just a general insight on my health journey. This blog also gives me a purpose, us spoonies do need a bit of variety in our lives, we may not be able to get up to a lot but we still need goals and enjoyments.

At the moment I am in a pretty good place with my recovery. My weeks consist of light duties around the house like cooking meals, washing dishes, making the bed and putting out the rubbish. I can manage a few outings and light exercises. I am currently lifting 2kg weights! I also live 2 blocks from the beach so I stroll there regularly. I can’t manage all these activities in one day, but I am slowly getting there. I do have flare ups regularly, I’m trying to stay as positive as I can about them. I’m learning to respect and learn from CFS/ME, it won’t magically go away. I am doing everything I can to have a happy and full recovery.

Well that’s all the important stuff, below are some photos!

Bye for now

Hi, I'm Lennae and welcome to my world! I started this blog back in 2013 when I became unwell with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I have since recovered from the illness and found I was back to full health by 2017. I started this blog to document my health journey along the way. . Since I have recovered from ME/CFS, I have enjoyed sharing the other chapters in my life including becoming a Mama, studying and the relocation back to my homeland NZ. As well as travel adventures, recipes and other positive influences along the way. I hope you enjoy my part of the world. Please don't be shy and drop me a line, I would love to hear from you! 1. Nice to hear about you!
Thanks for checking out my blog. I can’t quite believe anyone has started to read it!
I’m seeing a nutritionist and following a strict diet as she thinks Candida is the root cause of my fatigue.
Like you, I firmly believe I can achieve better health in the future and believe good nutrition is a key component.
I will look forward to your smoothie recipes.
    All the best,

  2. Thanks Fiona, lovely to hear from you. Its pretty exciting having a blog, I never thought I would have one, but hey why not! Your blog is great, I’m looking forward to more of your blogs. All the best with your recovery 🙂
